I've been totally neglecting DA this past month. However, this doesn't mean I haven't been drawing. I'm about halfway through "Drawing the Head and Hands" by Andrew Loomis (I highly recommend this book, you can get it free here): www.alexhays.com/loomis/Andrew…
I'll be uploading some of what I learned from that book right after I finish this journal.
You may ask yourself, "Self, why does someone like PMucks, who can create highly detailed photo-realistic drawings, need to study a book on how to draw faces?"
The answer is, I don't really know how to draw faces! I know how to copy photographs, but give me a blank sheet of paper with no reference and I'm lost. By studying this book I'm learning facial anatomy, head structure, portraying expression, etc. My goal is to create any face, from any angle, with any expression, without the use of a reference.
Well, I've got a lot of catching up to do on DA, so I'm gonna go ahead and upload my drawings, then browse around and check out what I've been missing.
See you all soon!
